History of our being in Ukraine began in 1709 when the first Friars arrived Lvov for a permanent residence. Impetuous events which were going on almost for about 300 years often were not favourable for Friars` life and activity however in spite of all dangers and threats Capuchins came back to that land again and again. In 1988 we were given an opportunity of resuming our staying and activities in Ukraine. At once we took this occasion and later on a lot of Friars from Krakov Province (Poland) arrived here.
Today we are setting up Monastic Communities on the territory of Ukraine and Russia. All of them are members of Vice-Province of Saint Father Pio of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchins in Ukraine which was founded in 2004.
