The first Catholic temple was built in the first decade of the XIX century. The funds for its building was given by Mycola Sapega, and his follower, Kostiantyn Chorba enrich the temple. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the temple was taken care of by the family of Mankovski.
In 1921, the last Father Superior of the parish was executed in front of the temple, and was buried on the premises. From that time and until the WW II the temple was used as a military warehouse. At the time of the WW II the temple functioned only for one and half years, serving Catholics of different nationalities.
1947. The temple is closed down and turned into a storehouse.
1961. The temple is turned into a pioneer palace.
From 1989 the faithful began to solicit for the restitution of the temple, while the services were held in a private house. On the Christmas day of 1989 a Holy Liturgy was held on the steps of the temple.
February 17, 1990 bishop Yan Olshanski consecrated the temple. The same year father Viktor Tkach, who was a minister in that area requested Friars Capuchin from Starokostiantyniv to help him in pastoral ministry. Thus Friars Capuchin took over the parish in Krasyliv. |
