Origin of the first monkish house of Capuchins in Kyiv took place in modern times.
1991/1992. Father Stanislav Padevski comes to Kyiv to look for a possibility for Capuchins to settle in the capital. During one year, before his assignment as Father Superior in Vinnitsya he helps priest Ian Krapan with the St. Olexander parish.
1993. Friar Kazimiezh Guzik comes to Kyiv to continue the search of quarters for Capuchins.
1994. First Friars Capuchin settle in the capital.
June 22, 1996 after several years of processing necessary papers, on a
Patron Saint's Day
of the parish of Mother of God, Capuchins received the order, by which they were getting a site in Perova boulevard for building the temple and monastery.
April 21, 1997 friars got permission to start the construction.
September 1997. Consecrated temporary chapel and dwellings of the friars, built on the future temple premises.
September 1999. The construction of the monastery and the parish is commenced.
As of today in the finished part of the monastery live and work several friars. However, the construction work is going on.
